v1.3 - June 2026
This release strengthens data protection and improves export handling, with a warning when the same project is opened simultaneously and important fixes on imports.
New features
Warning when the same project is opened simultaneously
NINA Dubbing now detects when a project is open in several tabs or by several users at the same time. An alert warns of the risk of overwriting data, which prevents work loss caused by an accidental double opening.
Raw script import and use
You can now import any text script (.txt) into NINA Dubbing through File > Import > Raw script txt. The file content appears as is in a new Raw tab in the Forms area. To use it, simply select the text you want in this tab: it is automatically inserted at the sync bar position, letting you place lines quickly without retyping the text.
Segment navigation on the active track only
A new setting restricts navigation between lines (next/previous keys) to the track currently selected in the timeline, in detection and adaptation modes. This option is turned off automatically in Simulation and Prompting modes, where several characters can share the same line. Setting: "Segment navigation on active track only".
Reset original shot changes
A new Timeline > Reset ShotChanges submenu restores the shot changes as they were right after the initial media processing. This resolves recurring issues with shots disappearing during certain operations on the project.
France-style crosshatch export
A new "Croisillé style line count" setting displays the line count instead of crosses in the crosshatch export, with line counting based on French rules. The existing "Quebec style line count" setting is kept for Canadian projects and keeps applying its own rules.
DubStudio export available from NINA Dubbing
DubStudio export is now directly available from NINA Dubbing. It was previously available only from NINA Prompting.
Customizable sync point size
You can now adjust the size of the sync points shown in the timeline from the settings, for better readability based on each artisan's preference.
Shortcut to create a sync point at the current position
The Ctrl+Down shortcut instantly creates a sync point at the sync bar location, inside the active segment or sub-segment, without going through the menu.
Improvements
You can now apply an offset to all project events while excluding shot changes, which meets the needs of projects where shots must not be shifted.
The comparison script export now excludes timecode changes (Started/Ended Change) by default, to surface text edits only. A new option also lets you export either the full script or only the loops affected by changes (Diff only).
The Reassign Role action is now available directly with the Ctrl+Alt+R shortcut, without going through the context menu.
You can now select several segments and reassign them all to a new role in a single operation. This extends the existing Reassign Role with the same selection gestures used for sync point deletion (right-click, timeline selection, sync bar).
Sync point deletion now supports multi-selection, with the same selection modes as Reassign Role: select several segments, then delete all their sync points in one action. This extends the bulk deletion introduced in v1.0.
Search now covers all project roles, even those whose track is not displayed in the timeline. If the line found is on a hidden track, that track is made visible and the timeline position moves automatically to the start of the segment.
Reactions from a DubStudio project are now generated straight to the adaptation track, which aligns NINA Dubbing with the expected workflow.
In Help > Shuttle configurations, a new "Shuttle XPress Detection" entry is available, with automatic download of the configuration file. The download link for "Shuttle XPress Adaptation" is also updated to the latest version of the file.
Reactions can now be generated with square brackets [ ] in addition to the existing formats, to match the notation conventions used by some teams.
The Ctrl+Space shortcut activates a Play/Pause mode with return: playback starts from the sync bar position, and when you pause, the sync bar returns automatically to its starting point. Useful to listen to a line on a loop without losing your reference point.
Fixes
Events deleted and struck through in an Amazon XLSX changelist now appear correctly in the Changes tab after import.
The "The remote project is different than your local version" error that blocked some XNTP remote project imports is fixed.
The Canadian symbol that was missing when importing some DubStudio projects is now handled correctly.
Lines now import correctly from DETX files. They were no longer visible after import in previous versions.
The crosshatch export with line count was returning only zeros. The calculation is now correct.
v1.2 - May 2026
NINA Dubbing now introduces comparison-script export between versions, broadens format and output support, and enriches the navigation and display tools for detectors and adapters.
New features
Comparison script export between two versions
You can now export a Word document (.docx) that lists only the loops that changed between two versions of a project. Available from Export > Changes, this tool lets you choose between the detection track and the adaptation track, then compare the current project with any previous version available in your Workspace. In the exported document, deleted lines appear struck through, edits in bold, moves in italics, and additions in normal text. Role name changes are highlighted as well.
TTAL v2.1 format support
NINA Dubbing now supports the new TTAL v2.1 specification, including the handling of detection signs, loops, and shot changes according to the latest standard in force.
Smart Bande Rythmo regeneration on all loops
A new "Current loop" option, selected by default, lets you choose whether the Smart Bande Rythmo is regenerated only for the current loop or for every loop in the project.
Line-count crosshatch export
A new preferences option displays the characters' line count instead of crosses in the crosshatch export, for faster reading of the synchronization data.
Role indicator in projection mode
In projection mode (Alt+P), the number of displayed roles and the number of used lines now appear directly in the timeline. A Refresh button updates the indicator if the track configuration has changed.
Reassign Role from the context menu on selected segments
You can now reassign one or several selected segments to another role directly with a right-click (right-click > Reassign Role), carrying along the associated sync points and symbols. It also works when the sync bar sits in the middle of a segment with no active selection.
Improvements
Two new keyboard shortcuts move a sync point to the left (Ctrl+Alt+1) or to the right (Ctrl+Alt+2) up to the sync bar. The existing Ctrl+1 and Ctrl+2 shortcuts (Start and End modes) are kept.
When you use a Netflix or Amazon ChangeList (XLSX format), the Changes tab stays selected even after you point an event. You no longer need to return to it after each action.
When you click a track in the timeline, it now scrolls automatically to become fully visible, without using the scroll bar manually.
Fixes
The Reassign Role action available through right-click is fully operational again.
The crosshatch grid export now accounts for loop renumbering correctly. The crosses match the right loop numbers, even after a renumbering.
The MOVE function, used to move elements in the timeline, works again.
Lines and reactions now appear in the right order on the tracks when the Smart Bande Rythmo is generated, including cases of an underline spanning two segments merged in adaptation.
Statistics computed on the whole file or on the current loop now correctly account for the offsets and the StartTC defined on the project.
When you select text and then type a character, it now replaces the selection as expected, instead of being appended after it.
v1.1 - April 2026
First official release of NINA Dubbing. It lays the foundations of the detection and adaptation workflow, with support for DubStudio projects and the first navigation and role management features.
New features
Bulk deletion of sync points
You can now select several segments and delete their sync points in a single action, using the Shift+Delete shortcut. There is no need to repeat the operation segment by segment.
DubStudio project import
You can now import DubStudio projects directly into NINA Dubbing. This opens the detection and adaptation workflow to teams working with DubStudio source files, without any manual conversion step.
Search in Detection and Adaptation lists
A new button and its keyboard shortcut let you search for any line directly from the Detection or Adaptation list in the Forms area, using the same search dialog already available in the Smart Bande Rythmo. Results are highlighted with automatic scrolling to the matching line.
Skip detection track in Smart Bande Rythmo generation
A new preference, "Skip VO text detection in Smart Band Rythmo generation", lets you exclude the detection track when generating the Smart Bande Rythmo. Useful for workflows where only the adaptation should be visible on the Bande Rythmo.
x10 zoom level on the timeline
A new x10 zoom level is available on the timeline, giving you finer control when placing sync points on dense segments.
Improvements
The character list in the Reassign Role window now always appears in alphabetical order, whatever the project role configuration.
Fixes
DubStudio projects that contain the Canadian lip-sync and breathing detection symbols now import correctly, with all symbols visible in the timeline.
