v1.3 - June 2026
This release adds two new export and import options for production continuity, and corrects timecode and track configuration issues that were disrupting sessions.
New features
Export to DubStudio format
A new DubStudio export option is now available in NINA Prompting. It lets production teams export their work to DubStudio format when they need to continue on that platform, for example during a platform outage, without losing the content prepared in NINA.
Open a local video file
Fixes
Setting a custom start timecode (Options > Set Timecode) and then saving caused all shot changes to shift left and lose sync with the video. Shot changes are now preserved correctly after saving.
In Prompting mode, opening Setup Tracks to assign characters to their lines could cause characters to swap lines. Each character now stays on its assigned line.
v1.2 - May 2026
This release improves the on-set experience by fixing the mute behavior and reducing project load times, keeping sessions moving without interruption.
New features
Faster project loading
Waveform and scene detection tracks are no longer loaded when opening a project in NINA Prompting. This significantly reduces load time, letting you get to work faster.
Reverse mode disabled in Prompting
Fixes
When Mute sound was enabled, audio would return after using reverse playback (Ctrl+Alt+Arrow) and could not be re-muted with the space bar. Sound now stays muted as configured.
v1.1 - April 2026
First official release of NINA Prompting. It brings studio-ready tools for sound engineers and directors: timecode synchronization, adaptation diff review, comment display on set, and reliable sync bar behavior.
New features
Set a custom start timecode from the player
A new Set Timecode option is available in the player's context menu. It lets you align NINA Prompting's internal timecode with the client's burned-in timecode, keeping all timeline elements in sync with the video feed on set.
Review adaptation diffs directly in NINA Prompting
Sound engineers can now query adaptation diffs from within NINA Prompting to compare the final adapted version against the locked version. The workflow uses Alt + selection of the NINA Prompting menu and lets you choose between detection and adaptation diffs in a dedicated dialog, so the team on set can immediately spot what changed before a session.
Comments visible on set
Comments saved in a project are now stored in the NTP file and displayed in NINA Prompting during recording sessions. Directors and sound engineers can read notes left during preparation without switching tools.
Negative video offset
A new setting lets you configure a negative video playback offset. This makes it possible to compensate for cases where the video feed arrives slightly ahead of the expected timecode position.
Track count control with keyboard shortcuts
The + and - keys now let you increase or decrease the number of tracks displayed on the Smart Bande Rythmo on the fly, without opening any dialog. The default display remains 5 tracks.
Navigation and playback controls in the menu
Functions that were previously only accessible by keyboard shortcut, such as navigating between segments forward and backward, are now available directly from the NINA Prompting menu. This gives sound engineers full access to the tool without having to memorize shortcuts.
Improvements
The sync bar could disappear during a live recording session. It now stays visible at all times without requiring a workaround.
Filtering by category in the Setup Tracks dialog (Ctrl+Alt+T) was returning an empty list even when matching roles existed. Filtering now works correctly in Simulation and Prompting modes.
Changing the number of displayed tracks via Ctrl+Alt+T could take up to 20 to 30 seconds to apply. The update is now immediate.
Underline markers on certain lines were lost when switching to Simulation or Prompting mode. They are now preserved correctly.
